Casino resort Jeju Shinhwa World, on South Korea’s Jeju Island, is to host in March the first stop of Triton Poker’s 2019 Super High Roller Series, announced the event organiser.
Jeju Shinhwa World is owned and operated by casino resort investor Landing International Development Ltd. The property, featuring a foreigner-only casino (pictured), had hosted a stop of the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series in 2018.
This year’s tour stop features a total of six tournaments, to take place between March 2 and 9, including a HKD2-million (US$255,000) buy-in for a No-Limit Hold’em main event.
The organisers said in a press release that players confirmed for the Jeju Shinhwa World tour stop included 10-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner Phil Ivey, and the defending champion of the 2018 No-Limit Hold’em Super High Roller Series Main Event in Jeju, Mikita Badziakouski.
Triton Poker was founded in 2015 by Malaysian businessman and poker player Richard Yong. The high-stakes porker tournament series reportedly targets affluent business people and top professional poker players.
