Slot machine manufacturer Aristocrat says it is ready to deploy its new cabinet, called Mars-X (pictured), in the Asia-Pacific region. It has a slimmed-down upper portion and a base that takes no more floor space than its predecessor the Helix, said the group.
A press release from Aristocrat Technologies Inc, a United States-based unit of Australia-listed Aristocrat Leisure Ltd, said of the Mars-X: “When placed back-to-back, its unique shape opens sight lines” across a casino floor.
For regional casino operators mindful of carefully managing their costs, “Mars-X’s design compliments existing floor layouts,” stated Aristocrat. “With the same footprint as its predecessor cabinet, the Helix, bases and peripheries are also reusable,” it added.
As well as innovations in the overall look of the Mars-X cabinet compared to other platforms, it features two 27-inch, 4k displays paired with new internal technology referred to as “Gen9” components.
Mars-X also has a deck of virtual buttons for player commands, with a wireless charging station for mobile communications devices fitted to it.
The new cabinet has additionally a cash box that can be accessed without opening the main body of the machine.
The press statement added regarding the Mars-X: “Its ergonomic design provides more efficient accessibility for field service technicians, streamlining maintenance and operations.”
