Canada-listed sports wagering specialist NYX Gaming Group Ltd has appointed Chris Armes as group chief technology officer.
He previously worked at California-, U.S.-based computer technology firm Oracle Corp as vice president of engineering for systems.
In his new role, Mr Armes will oversee the NYX Gaming’s support and development teams for its sportsbook, lotteries, bingo and casino products.
“We’re pleased to welcome Chris to the team, and we look forward to him providing technical direction across numerous areas of our product-led strategy,” said NYX Gaming chief executive Matt Davey in a prepared statement in a Monday press release.
On September 20, lottery services and casino technology group Scientific Games Corp said it would expand its existing digital gaming and online gambling portfolio by acquiring NYX Gaming for approximately CAD775 million (US$619 million), including debt.
Scientific Games said in an October 2 press release that its wholly owned subsidiary, Scientific Games International Inc, would – “subject to market and other conditions” – conduct a private offering for US$350-million in senior secured notes due 2025, toward the financing of the planned acquisition and to refinance some debt of the target business.
At the end of June, Scientific Games had total outstanding debt of US$8.18 billion, according to its second-quarter results, issued in late July.
