The All Japan Poker Championship (AJPC) announced on Thursday the launch of its first ever international poker tour, dubbed “AJPC Asian Circuit”. The first leg of the tour, to be held from December 14 to 18, will take place at Paradise City casino resort – a venue at Incheon, near South Korea’s main airport and the national capital Seoul.
The inaugural five-day event of the AJPC Asian Circuit will include a main event buy-in of KRW1.1 million (US$1,005) and also feature a “Super High Roller” event with a buy-in of KRW11.8 million, said the organisers.
The organisers said they expect the event to attract more than 300 players from Japan, with additional interest from players of other Asian countries.
The AJPC is based in Osaka and holds a number of tournaments within Japan. The organisation currently holds a yearly AJPC Championship, which it says is the “largest poker tournament” in Japan.
The AJPC said it would be holding several tournaments throughout Asia in 2018, “with the goal of developing one of the largest circuits in Asia,” according to Thursday’s release.
