The company managing the City of Dreams Manila casino resort (pictured) in the Philippines capital, Manila, says it appointed Geoffry P. Andres as chief operating officer on Friday, with effect from today.
Melco Crown (Philippines) Resorts Corp gave the news in a document dated November 13 and filed on Monday. It gave no further information on the new appointee.
A week earlier the firm told the Philippine Stock Exchange its previous COO, Kevin Sim, had resigned on November 6 for “personal reasons”.
The firm is a unit of Asian casino developer Melco Crown Entertainment Ltd. City of Dreams Manila had an official opening on February 2.
A spokesman at the venue told Reuters news agency in early August that management had “suspended” 100 workers – representing about 2 percent of the workforce – citing the need to cut costs.
