Australia-based slot machine maker Aristocrat Leisure Ltd announced on Tuesday that Philippe Etienne was joining the company’s board as a non-executive director.
The nomination took effect from Tuesday, “subject to receipt of all relevant regulatory pre-approvals,” the firm said in a filing to the Australian Securities Exchange.
Shareholders will be asked to appoint Mr Etienne as a non-executive director of Aristocrat at the firm’s annual general meeting in February next year.
Mr Etienne was identified in Aristocrat’s filing as “an experienced international executive”, with “extensive experience as a company director”, including with companies listed in the Australian Securities Exchange.
“Philippe’s nomination is a continuation of delivering on Aristocrat’s ongoing process of orderly board renewal and succession planning,” said Aristocrat’s chairman, Neil Chatfield, in a statement.
He added: “His strong governance expertise, strategic background and chief executive-level experience in growth companies with international operations will ensure that these critical skills sets are both maintained and strengthened on the board going forward.”
