A month after losing its hold on the casino market share in Macau, SJM Holdings Ltd reclaimed the top position last month. SJM Holdings, the operator of the Lisboa and Grand Lisboa casinos, saw its market share of gross gaming revenue (GGR) increase to 24.9 percent in June, according to industry figures compiled by GGRAsia on Tuesday.
Sands China Ltd’s market share stood at 22.0 percent in June, down from 23.2 percent in the previous month. The operator of the Venetian Macao led the market in two of the first six months of 2014.
Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd bagged a 21.1 percent share of the city’s gaming revenue last month, compared to 12.2 percent for Melco Crown Entertainment Ltd.
MGM China Holdings Ltd was fifth in the list, with 10.3 percent of the market share, followed by Wynn Macau Ltd with 9.5 percent, according to the figures compiled by GGRAsia.
Macau’s casino revenue fell for the first time in five years in June, according to official data. Total GGR dropped 3.7 percent year-on-year to MOP27.22 billion (US$3.41 billion), the city’s gaming regulator said earlier on Tuesday.
