Casino cash handling and transaction technology specialist SuzoHapp Group is focused on expending its footprint in Asia, as it continues to develop new product lines for the gaming industry, says Nelson Cheung (pictured left), SuzoHapp’s general manager for Asia.
“This was a good year for us, as we have been moving toward some new product lines, particularly in the cash handling business,” Mr Cheung told GGRAsia during the MGS Entertainment Show 2017, a casino industry trade show and conference held in Macau.
“We have been launching a few more products in this [cash handling] segment … and hopefully we will have something new to push out next year,” he added.
SuzoHapp was traditionally an amusement and gaming company developing and distributing machine components for equipment operators and original manufacturers. The company is now very active in the cash handling segment, following the acquisition of Italy-based currency technology firm Comesterogroup SRL, and the acquisition of Sweden-based cash handling technology company Scan Coin AB.
The company has been encouraged by the performance of its casino chip dispensing machines – incorporating the concept of a “self-serve cage” that facilitates the exchange of chips for money – as well as of the firm’s cash redemption terminal (CRT), which enables players to cash out their gaming tickets without having to line up at a service counter.
“The chip dispensing machine is something very unique,” said Mr Cheung. “We have customers in Australia that are trying it and it’s going well. There are companies in Macau interested in this product. Hopefully it could be on the floor here later this year or early next year, but it depends on the regulator,” he added.
The SuzoHapp executive said the company remains “very focused on the Asian market”, trying to launch new products and systems for the cash handling segment.
“We want to focus more on this segment, providing innovative and customised solutions that can help enhance and streamline existing processes,” said Mr Cheung. “We will be looking at what we can do in terms of [cash handling] at tables and cage operations, trying to optimise procedures,” he added.
