Monthly casino gross gaming revenue on the Las Vegas Strip (pictured), in the United States, fell for a fourth consecutive month in November measured in year-on-year terms.
Revenue – or “gaming win” – stood at US$508.3 million, down by 4.0 percent from the prior-year period. Baccarat revenue dropped 1.1 percent, to US$127.6 million.
The data was disclosed on Tuesday by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
Monthly gaming win on the Las Vegas Strip has been declining since August, when it dropped by 6.1 percent in year-on-year terms. The decline worsened to 12.1 percent the following month. In October, the Las Vegas Strip recorded a gaming win drop of 5.6 percent measured against the prior-year period.
This means the world’s two largest gaming hubs – Macau and the Las Vegas Strip – have been recording consecutive declines in casino revenue for multiple months. In Macau, monthly revenue has been declining since June measured in year-on-year terms.
Singapore, third-placed casino hub judged by annual gross revenue, doesn’t disclose monthly official data on casino gaming revenue.
For the fiscal year to end-November, gaming win on the Las Vegas Strip was down 4.8 percent. The fiscal year started on July 1.
The picture is slightly rosier for the overall U.S. state of Nevada, where the Las Vegas Strip is located. Gaming win in November stayed flat compared to the year before, after three consecutive monthly declines. In the fiscal year to date, gaming win is down 2.7 percent statewide.
