Casino equipment and lottery services firm Scientific Games Corp announced on Wednesday that it has completed the acquisition of Canadian gaming supplier DEQ Systems Corp. The transaction will be accretive to Scientific Games’ earnings and operating cash flow in 2017, the firm said in a press release.
Scientific Games had announced in September a definitive agreement to acquire DEQ for a total consideration of CAD27.2 million (US$20.5 million).
Scientific Games said the acquisition complements its product portfolio for casinos by adding more proprietary table games and table progressive systems and electronic table systems.
DEQ provides table-game-bonusing technology, table games, baccarat results tracking and jackpot connectivity products to more than 300 casinos in 30 countries, according to its corporate website.
“DEQ’s table product portfolio, presently established in more than 300 casinos worldwide, expands the depth and breadth of our proprietary table games offering and table progressive systems solutions for casino operators,” said in a statement Derik Mooberry, group chief executive of gaming at Scientific Games.
Mr Mooberry said that the addition of DEQ’s library of table games, table progressives and random bonusing systems would enhance Scientific Games’ recurring revenue base. The executive added that Scientific Games is especially excited about EZ Baccarat, described in the press release as the “world’s leading baccarat brand with over 800 table games in 150 casinos across the globe”.
