Casino gaming revenue in Macau’s Grand Emperor Hotel (pictured) jumped by 10.5 percent in the year ended March 31, owner and operator Emperor Entertainment Hotel Ltd announced.
Gaming revenue reached HK$2.05 billion (US$264 million), accounting for 90.5 percent of the group’s total revenue for the period, Emperor Entertainment said in a filing to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on Wednesday.
The company reported a profit of HK$600 million, up by 9.4 percent year-on-year. The board recommended the payment of a final dividend of 0.075 HK cents per share, up from a final dividend of 0.072 HK cents in 2013.
The casino at Grand Emperor Hotel operates under the gaming licence of SJM Holdings Ltd. The property is located in the city’s traditional gaming zone on Macau peninsula.
The Grand Emperor casino offers 200 slot-machine seats, 67 mass gaming tables and one self-managed VIP room with 10 tables.
Emperor Entertainment stated it is pursuing a “customer segmentation strategy with strong focus on [the] premium mass market”. Over the last 12 months, it “further ramped up” the proportion of premium mass customers, the company said, without providing more details.
Aside from the Grand Emperor hotel and casino facilities, the group also operates the Best Western Hotel in Taipa, which it acquired in March for HK$900 million. The 17-storey, three-star hotel has no gaming facilities.
