The Macao Gaming Show organiser – the Macau Gaming Equipment Manufacturers Association – has signed an agreement with the International Association of Gaming Advisors (IAGA) for the latter to become official organising partner of the event’s conference segment.
The Macao Tourism and Culture Summit 2015 will be held at casino resort Venetian Macao between November 17 and 19, concurrently with the exhibition segment of Macao Gaming Show.
The agreement between the two organisations – announced on Monday – covers the 2015 conference.
“We look forward to welcoming IAGA,” the Macau Gaming Equipment Manufacturers Association secretary general, Fatima Maria Nunes, said in a press release. “They understand the industry, its legal framework, its politics – and they understand the issues we all face on a global platform,” she added.
IAGA’s work includes providing opportunities for professional education and information sharing among its members. The membership includes gaming industry attorneys, senior executives, financial advisors, regulators, consultants and academics.
The Macao Gaming Show 2015 summit will include “a number of senior analysts from the IAGA ranks,” according to the press release. The main topic will be: “New rules, new vision, new opportunities: How can Macau channel gaming to power a new entertainment mix for tourism and culture?”
The partnership with IAGA will be focused on the second and third days of the summit. “These specialist sessions will cover: the impact of the 2008 downturn in Las Vegas and how the lessons learnt for recovery can be applied to Macau; the banking, funding and investment landscape for gaming opportunities in Macau and Asia; exporting the Macau experience to Asia and the world; and the lure of emerging markets around the Asia Pacific region,” the press release added.
This year’s Macao Gaming Show will have a floor area of over 10,000 square metres (107,639.1 sq feet). The event covers six industry segments: gaming equipment and accessories; gaming promoters (junkets) and VIP clubs; casino fixtures and fittings; promotional services and memorabilia; food and beverage; and entertainment and shows.
