Matsui Gaming Machine Co Ltd, also known as Matsui Group, a specialist in casino currency and table layouts, says it has made a technology licensing agreement with Walker Digital Table Systems LLC, a specialist in technology for casino games.
Under the deal, Matsui will manufacture and supply gaming chips that can be tracked – on compatible casino tables or within a certain geographical range – via specialised radio frequency identification (RFID) tags.
The licensing deal with Walker Digital involves RFID technology that employs high frequency tracking signals known as phase jitter modulation, or ‘PJM’. Walker Digital says PJM achieves the highest data transfer rates compared to RFID systems that use lower frequency technology known as amplitude modulation or ‘AM’.
Shigeki Machida (pictured left), director of Matsui Group commented: “We are very excited to be licensed to supply PJM RFID gaming chips to our customers. With high quality Matsui chips, PJM RFID is a perfect match and this will surely provide even more choice and performance for our customers.”
The agreement with Walker Digital includes exclusive distribution of Walker Digital Table Systems’ Perfect Pay casino games tables and software in South Korea. In that market, a subsidiary of Matsui called M.G.M. World Co Ltd will act as service agent for Perfect Pay. The unit is also the exclusive distributor in the South Korea market for products from casino games suppliers IGT Plc, Aristocrat Leisure Ltd and Interblock DD.
During Macao Gaming Show 2015 at the Venetian Macao, Matsui displayed some of its updated casino currency security features. They included the latest version of its MG Eye product – a security feature embedded in Matsui chips. When employed with the MG Eye Scanner, it allows casino staff quickly to verify valid chips.
“We have been reinvesting a lot of our revenue to upgrade our production facility and improve the products. This is the reason Matsui chips and layouts are chosen by more and more operators,” Mr Machida told GGRAsia in an email.
