Austria-based gaming equipment maker Novomatic AG is sharing a stand with Australian slot machine maker Ainsworth Game Technology Ltd at this year’s Global Gaming Expo (G2E) Asia trade show.
This is the first time the two firms are sharing a booth for G2E Asia, Novomatic said in a press release. But only Ainsworth is officially listed as an exhibitor, according to information avaiable in the G2E Asia website.
Novomatic announced last year the acquisition of a majority stake in Ainsworth.
Harald Neumann, chief executive of Novomatic, said in a statement in April that the group planned to expand its business in Asia via Ainsworth. “Thanks to the strong presence of Ainsworth in Australia, Asia, North and South America, Novomatic will, in future, also intensify its work in these markets,” Mr Neumann said at the time.
In late 2015, Novomatic had announced that over the following three years it would only directly attend one of the two annual gaming trade shows currently taking place in Macau. The firm said in a release at the time it had decided to commit itself to the Macao Gaming Show and would not be attending G2E Asia. But its products were still on showcase at the 2016 edition of G2E Asia, namely in the stand of Novomatic’s Asian distributor, Jade Entertainment and Gaming Technologies Inc.
The G2E Asia 2017 display of Novomatic includes products of video bingo company OtiumGI SL, a firm that became part of the Novomatic group last year.
G2E Asia 2017 takes place from May 16 to May 18 at Cotai Expo at the Venetian Macao casino resort.
