Australia-listed gaming operator Silver Heritage Group Ltd announced on Friday the appointment of key executives to oversee respectively the gaming and hotel operations at its Nepal casino resort near the country’s border with the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
The company confirmed the appointment of Kevin Willcocks as casino general manager at Tiger Palace Resort Bhairahawa (pictured). Mr Willcocks joined Silver Heritage in November last year, and in his new position he will reporting to the group’s head of casino operations Paul Simmons, the firm said in a filing to the Australian Securities Exchange.
Mr Willcocks is described in the filing as having more than 30 years of casino operations experience in the Australian, Asian and European markets, the last 16 years of which was in Goa, India.
Silver Heritage said last month that Tiger Palace Resort will have a “grand opening” celebration event on March 16.
Tiger Palace Resort launched casino operations on December 28 last year after receiving its gaming licence that day. At the time the venue had 44 gaming tables and 216 electronic gaming machines, according to a previous Silver Heritage statements.
A soft opening of the property’s hotel facilities, offering 100 rooms, was held on September 20.
In Friday’s filing, Silver Heritage also announced that it has appointed Brett Model as the general manager of the hotel at the property, effective March 1. The executive will report directly to Silver Heritage’s chief executive, Mike Bolsover.
Mr Model is said to have 15 years of hotel and casino resort experience in Asia, having worked in China, Macau and Vietnam, according to the filing. He was most recently director of hotel operations at the Golden Nugget Lake Charles (Hotel and Casino), in Louisiana in the United States.
