The 13 Hotel (pictured), a new property located on the border between Coloane and the casino district of Cotai in Macau, is open but just for so-called “private bookings”, said on Friday a spokesperson of a public relations company acting on behalf of the scheme’s promoter, South Shore Holdings Ltd.
The venue’s promoter had said in a Thursday filing to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange – and in a separate release – that the hotel would open to guests today (August 31).
It was however not possible as of daytime on Friday to make a room reservation at The 13 Hotel via its official website or on the telephone. It was also not possible to book a table at one of the venue’s restaurants via those channels.
GGRAsia also confirmed that walk-in guests and members of the public were not allowed to enter the property on Friday.
“The 13 is open now in a sense that only guests who have already made a private booking can go in … including [to] restaurants and other facilities; no walk-in guests are allowed at the moment,” said the spokesperson, adding that all reservations would have to be made via email.
“Our operation model at the moment is ‘only for private booking’,” the person told GGRAsia.
The spokesperson did not provide an exact date for when the hotel’s website would feature a room booking engine or the venue be open to walk-in guests, saying only that the information would be provided later.
The company had said in Thursday’s release that the hotel first guests stayed at the property “over the weekend of 24 August”. The 13 Hotel offers approximately 200 duplex suites and villas, said the firm.
