Members of the Gaming Standards Association (GSA) have re-elected Roman Czubak as chairman of the GSA board. In a written announcement issued on Wednesday, the association said Mr Czubak, who is Austria-based gaming machine supplier Novomatic AG’s head of sales in Central and Eastern Europe, was named chairman after recently-held elections.
“This is an exciting time in the gaming industry. Technologies advance and change daily, and that gives suppliers and operators an ever-evolving toolbox to entertain players. That evolution is what makes GSA standards so vital,” Mr Czubak said.
Among other appointments to the industry lobby group, Atlantic Lottery information technology vice-president Byron Bridger was re-appointed as GSA treasurer. The members elected Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries strategic gaming development director James Anastasio as vice-chairman and Canada’s AXES Network chief executive Earle Hall as secretary.
Slot machine and lottery services provider International Gaming Technology PLC has its architecture vice-president Adrian Marcu maintaining his seat on the GSA board. So does gaming equipment and digital gaming provider Scientific Games Corp’s vice-president for advanced development and hardware engineering Randy Hedrick.
New to the board is slot machine and digital gaming firm Aristocrat Technologies Ltd’s technical compliance director Nimish Purohit. He and each of the office-bearers will keep their seats for a year.
The GSA represents a wide range of companies in various businesses linked to gaming around the world. The group’s website says the organisation is involved in the identification, definition, development, promotion and implementation of standards to enable interoperability, innovation, education and communication for the benefit of the entire industry.
The group has recently extended its advocacy practice to Japan where it hopes to play a role as a specialist technical advisor in electronic gaming machine technology and digital infrastructure. Japan is establishing a casino industry and the GSA hopes to offer information about the gaming industry and assist in education efforts about technical aspects and regulation.
