Casino equipment brand Konami’s horse racing game “Fortune Cup” is a refreshing feature for customers on casino floors in Asia, says Matthew Loon (pictured), product and marketing manager for Konami Australia Pty Ltd.
“We have currently got it installed at Wynn Palace and Wynn Macau, and we should have several [more units] installed by the end of the year in Macau,” he told GGRAsia, referring to the properties of Macau casino operator Wynn Macau Ltd.
Fortune Cup is described as a “multi-station” horse-racing game that combines the mechanics of traditional arcade horse-racing games with the sophistication of digital technology for betting and game presentation.
“We have also got it installed in other markets and casinos such as Star Vegas,” Mr Loon stated, referring to Star Vegas Resort and Club. The venue is run by Australia-listed Donaco International Ltd in Poipet, a casino town in Cambodia near that country’s border with Thailand.
“It has been doing very well for us. And it’s a point of difference for the venues; that’s what operators like about it,” Mr Loon added.
The Philippines continues to be a major market for the Konami casino equipment brand, which is part of Japan’s Konami Holdings Corp.
The brand’s Concerto Stack slot machine cabinet with a screen in 4K-resolution “should be released in the Philippine market at the end of this calendar year,” said Mr Loon.
Konami offers “Ba Fang Jin Bao” – a four-level standalone progressive game – exclusively via the 4K Concerto Stack cabinet.
The brand’s “Star Watch” family of two-level standalone progressive slot machine games is approved for the Philippines, stated the manager. The variations are “Star Watch Fire” and “Star Watch Magma”.
The Star Watch range has been in United States market “for about a year now” noted Mr Loon, adding it had been “performing very well”.
He added: “We are just starting to roll it out now into the Philippines.”
