The World Poker Tour (WPT) says it will link with the NagaWorld casino resort c0mplex (pictured) in Phnom Penh to stage a WPT Cambodia poker tournament from November 16 to 25.
A Sunday announcement from the WPT stated the NagaWorld tournament would be the first of its type in the Cambodian capital.
It added the US$1,100 buy-in WPT Main Event, to be played from November 21 to 25, would have a US$250,000 guarantee.
The buy-ins for the other 16 events that make up the tournament range from US$250 to US$5,300.
The events are due to include short deck, turbo, bounty, and pot-limit Omaha events.
The NagaWorld casino resort, operated by Hong Kong-listed NagaCorp Ltd, has – in addition to casino space – two five-star hotels, restaurants, spas, duty-free shops and entertainment facilities.
Gaming event consultancy Connaissance Management is supporting the WPT Cambodia tournament, the WPT announcement said.
