This year’s Global Gaming Expo (G2E) Asia includes some innovations, says one of the organisers.
One of the most obvious changes has to do with the public opening of the trade show. In previous years, the exhibition floor of G2E Asia was reserved on the first day either for VIP guests only, or VIP guests, conference delegates and media. This year the organisers have changed the schedule with the floor now open to all delegates starting from 11.30am on May 20.
The event, held annually in Macau, will take place from May 20 to 22 at the Venetian Macao. It is the eighth edition of the trade show and the largest ever.
“We’re pleased to introduce some enhanced event technology including ‘My G2E Asia’ network which allows delegates to see whom else is registered for the show and reach out to them to facilitate meetings if they’ve opted in,” says Michael Johnson, industry vice president for G2E events at co-organiser Reed Exhibitions.
He adds: “We’ve also added more networking opportunities including a reception on Wednesday after the show in honour of G2E Asia’s eight-year anniversary, and strategic meet ups for both slot and table game professionals.” See the full schedule for networking events here.
This year’s conference programme includes a full-day summit dedicated to iGaming. Mr Johnson says the summit was introduced responding to demand.
“From 2012 to 2013 we saw a notable spike in visitors specifically looking for content in those areas, and on the exhibit side we’re seeing many of the major suppliers looking to introduce products here as well,” he says.
“With the Philippines market expanding and including iGaming, as well as the rest of the world gravitating towards online I think it simply represents the natural progression of the global gaming industry.”
Similar to previous editions, G2E Asia is again offering a gaming management certificate programme. The full-day course is produced in partnership with the University of Macau and the Singapore campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. It targets new and mid-level casino managers.
