The Australasian Gaming Expo (AGE) 2018 has already seen 76 percent of exhibitor space sold, said the event organiser in a Thursday release. The trade show – scheduled to take place on August 14 to 16 – will occupy a total of 19,000 square metres of exhibition space.
This year’s AGE will be held at the International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney, located on the western edge of the city’s central business district. The venue is also the permanent home of the annual gaming trade show.
The upcoming AGE will feature “a number of new event technologies”, including what were termed “digital show bags” that enable visitors to transfer exhibitor information to their mobile device, the Thursday release stated.
The organiser of AGE is the Gaming Technologies Association. Primary members include: Ainsworth Game Technology Ltd; Aristocrat Technologies Australia Pty Ltd; Aruze Gaming Australia Pty Ltd; IGT (Australia) Pty Ltd; Interblock Asia Pacific Pty Ltd; Konami Australia Pty Ltd; Scientific Games Corp and Tabcorp Holdings Ltd.
Last year’s edition of AGE saw a 19 percent increase in the number of attendees, amounting to 8,099 visits at the trade show. They came from 26 countries including the U.S., the U.K. and Asia-Pacific nations. More than 50 senior industry executives from Asia attended, according to the event organiser.
The 2017 edition of AGE – also held at the ICC Sydney – saw 246 exhibitors, a tally that was 32 percent higher than the previous edition.
