Gaming technology testing service and consultancy Gaming Laboratories International LLC, known as GLI, is celebrating in 2019 the firm’s 30th anniversary. Company co-founder James Maida says providing quality customer service remains the company’s focus.
“We’re obsessed with customer service and go out of our way for every regulator, every supplier, and every operator,” Mr Maida (pictured) said in prepared comments included in a company press release issued on Monday.
Mr Maida – who is also GLI’s president and chief executive – added: “We walk through walls to get [clients] what they need. That is something Paul Magno and I have been passionate about since we founded the company in 1989, and it’s something we are equally passionate about to this day.”
Company co-founder Mr Magno is currently GLI’s senior vice president. He was also quoted in the release as saying the firm would continue to evolve in order to keep up with the latest technological developments in the gaming industry.
“When we started GLI, cassette tapes and the Sony Walkman were the latest technologies,” Mr Magno said. “Since then, innovators have leaped forward in the general entertainment industry and the gaming industry. While none of us knows where technology will take us, at GLI, we do know that whatever happens next in the gaming industry’s future is up to our creative-minded customers, and we will be there to help them.”
Ian Hughes, vice president of global services of GLI, told GGRAsia in May that his firm planned to double the size of its team in Macau. That was in order to assist clients in preparing for and complying with, updates expected next year to the city’s regulations covering casino equipment.
GLI stated in its Monday press release it had tested and certified more than 3 million items in more than 475 jurisdictions, since the firm’s establishment.
The firm currently has approximately 1,250 employees, working in 24 locations around the world. In Asia, GLI has offices in Macau and in Tokyo, Japan, according to its website.
