Casino gaming equipment supplier and lottery services company International Game Technology Plc (IGT) announced on Thursday that it has achieved responsible gaming accreditation for its IGT PlayDigital operations from the Global Gambling Guidance Group (G4).
G4 describes itself an organisation that aims to minimise the impact of problem gambling by promoting a worldwide accreditation programme for operators and suppliers in the gaming industry. It was created by a group of professionals said to have experience working with the gambling industry worldwide in pursuit of responsible gaming.
IGT had achieved in 2017 a G4 responsible gaming accreditation for its land-based casino and lottery segments. According to the Thursday press announcement form IGT, its new accreditation for digital services makes it the first gaming equipment and services supplier to be certified for digital and land-based business.
“We prioritise innovation and are pleased that our gaming solutions continue to be recognised for responsible gaming excellence,” said Wendy Montgomery, IGT senior vice president, global brand, marketing, and communications, in prepared remarks contained in the Thursday press statement.
According to the release, IGT was independently assessed by G4 for ensuring that the company “exceeds industry standards” for providing player protection tools and responsible gaming information on its IGT PlayDigital product platform. IGT was also evaluated by G4 on its “responsible gaming commitment to research, policy development, and employee training”.
Pieter Remmers, a G4 board member, said in his prepared remarks that IGT showed “real commitment to responsible gaming and corporate social responsibility by having clear responsible gaming policies and guidelines, and by implementing the latest responsible gaming features within its products”.
