Austria-based gaming equipment maker Novomatic AG says Stefan Krenn (pictured) has been appointed a member of its executive board, with effect from February 15. He will serve on it alongside Ryszard Presch and Johannes Gratzl, stated the company in a press release.
The company was “delighted” to have Mr Krenn in that role, as he was “an experienced manager and a proven expert from our own ranks,” said Bernd Oswald, chairman of Novomatic’s supervisory board, in prepared remarks.
He added: “Stefan Krenn has played a significant role in helping to shape the strategic development of this group in recent years, and has made an important contribution to the company’s success.”
Mr Krenn has held various positions at Novomatic since 2015. These included posts as secretary general and global division manager, and most recently as an authorised representative of Novomatic. He is also managing director and member of the supervisory board of various subsidiaries of the group.
The announcement quoted Mr Krenn as saying: “Novomatic is a leading global company and I will be fully committed to the sustainable success of the group, further expansion and clear positioning on international markets.”
Novomatic – traditionally strong in Europe and the Americas – has been working to increase the presence of its casino gaming machine products in Asia-Pacific markets. Novomatic controls a 52-percent stake in Australian slot machine maker Ainsworth Game Technology Ltd.
According to the release, the Novomatic group has around 300 subsidiaries, with operations in more than 100 countries and about 24,500 employees.
