U.K.-based surveillance technology specialist Synectics Plc has opened an office in Macau “to support gaming sector growth” in the Asia Pacific region, it said in a press release.
Synectics provides surveillance services to the gaming industry as well as to the oil and gas sector, to governments and for critical infrastructure (assets that are essential for the functioning of a society and economy or firm). Synectics’ services include design, delivery and management of “integrated security and surveillance systems”.
Earlier this year, Synectics announced it had secured a multi-million dollar expansion project for a high profile Asia Pacific gaming property. It didn’t identify the customer.
The firm has previously provided services to several casino properties in the region. Past clients include MGM Macau; Solaire Resort and Casino in the Philippines; and a major Singapore-based client, Synectics stated in its Monday press release.
“With a growing customer base in the region, it is vitally important that we have the right infrastructure in place to offer dedicated technical support where and when it is needed,” stated John Katnic, vice president of global gaming at Synectics. “The new Macau office fulfils that need and reflects our commitment to the gaming sector in this region,” he added.
Synectics last year opened a regional Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore. It includes a training facility and an engineering lab. The firm has been active in the region since 2004.
“Synectics now supports over 100 gaming properties around the world,” chief executive Paul Webb noted in a statement.
He added: “The new Macau office will play a crucial role in our continued growth strategy by boosting our ability to offer technical support at a local level.”
