U.S.-based casino operator Wynn Resorts Ltd has appointed Scott Moore to the post of chief marketing officer. In addition, the firm promoted Michael Weaver to chief communications officer, it said in a press release issued on Friday.
Wynn Resorts is the parent firm of Macau-based casino operator Wynn Macau Ltd. The latter operates casino hotel Wynn Macau on the peninsula and casino resort Wynn Palace (pictured) in the city’s Cotai district.
“Mr Moore comes to the company with extensive experience in digital marketing, omni-channel consumer engagement, brand development and accelerating growth,” Wynn Resorts stated in the release.
Most recently, Mr Moore was the chief operating officer at U.S.-based loyalty marketing firm Augeo Affinity Marketing Inc. He was engaged in several marketing-related positions at retailer giant Best Buy Co Inc from 2003 to 2015.
Mr Weaver joined Wynn Resorts in 2011. He has “served in various leadership positions in marketing, branding, communications and development,” the firm said.
Wynn Resorts also announced on Friday that Marilyn Spiegel would become president of its Wynn Las Vegas property. Ms Spiegel had previously served as president of the Las Vegas casino resort from 2010 to 2013. She will replace Maurice Wooden, who decided to step down as the resort’s president at year-end, the release said. Mr Wooden resigned from his position as a non-executive director of Wynn Macau Ltd earlier in December.
The appointments of Mr Moore, Mr Weaver and Ms Spiegel will become effective January 2, 2019, Wynn Resorts stated.
The release quoted company chief executive Matt Maddox as saying: “I am excited to begin 2019 with such strong enhancements to our executive team, each of whom brings a unique skill set and deep expertise to Wynn Resorts.”
He added: “Combined with the steadfast leadership of Ian Coughlan and Linda Chen in Macau, Wynn Resorts is well positioned to achieve the growth and development goals we envision for our company both in 2019 and longer term.”
Mr Coughlan and Ms Chen are respectively president and chief operating officer of Wynn Macau Ltd.
