Macau gaming operator Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd is to host more than 30 shows by an aggregate of 20 artists, at its three Cotai performance venues between this month and June.
That is based on GGRAsia’s review of information given in a Monday social media update issued via Galaxy Macau, the company’s Cotai flagship property.
Most of the artists on the roster are either from Hong Kong, Taiwan, or South Korea, though Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli is a standout global name on the roster.
The city’s government has been encouraging all six Macau gaming concessionaires to increase the amount of non-gaming products they offer, in support of diversifying the city’s gaming resort market beyond high-stakes gambling.
A number of investment analysts has also mentioned that on occasion certain artists brought in by the city’s gaming resorts have the potential to bring in incremental gambling business.
According to the Galaxy Entertainment update, the company’s events are being staged respectively at Galaxy Arena and GBOX at Galaxy Macau, and the Broadway Theatre at Broadway Macau.
Based on GGRAsia’s review of Galaxy Entertainment’s events calendar, the total of 20 artists it publicised in the Monday social media post, account for a total of 33 scheduled shows.
Galaxy Arena – the 16,000-seat multipurpose venue within Galaxy International Convention Center (GICC) that is adjacent to Galaxy Macau – is to host performances from artists Jisoo, Andrea Bocelli, NCT127, Wakin Chau, Tomorrow X Together, J-Hope, Show Lo and Jacky Cheung during the period.
Most of those shows are scheduled in either May or June, with the latter month featuring six concert dates by Hong Kong Cantopop singer Jacky Cheung, according to the company’s events calendar.
GBOX, an 850-seat performance venue within the precincts of Galaxy Macau, is to host Hong Kong comedian Johnson Lee for one show in April, and South Korean singer Gyubin for one show in May.
Broadway Theatre – a performance venue with 2,500 seats within Broadway Macau – is to host 13 shows from late March to May. They feature acts Kim Jae Joong, Hyukoh, Gemini Fourth, NCT Wish, Liza Wang, Donghae, Yena, Onew, Icyball and Gary Shaw.
Galaxy Entertainment has previously said that in 2024 it hosted “approximately 460 shows and events”. They included concerts by Hong Kong singer and actor Andy Lau, and sports events “UFC Fight Night Macau”, the ITTF World Cup, and the Women’s Volleyball Nations League, the company mentioned in its 2024 results filing published in late February.
Galaxy Entertainment flagged in the same filing that it would offer a “wide range” of shows and events in 2025, including concerts and another edition of the ITTF World Cup in April.
“We are also hosting the scheduled Extraordinary General Assemblies and Conference of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) which is to be co-hosted by AAMC [Automobile General Association Macao-China] and Galaxy Entertainment Group this June at GICC,” marking a “first” for this “world class annual event in Asia,” stated the casino operator in the 2024 results filing.
