Francis Lui Yiu Tung (pictured), chairman of Macau casino operator Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd, is the headline keynote speaker for the opening day of the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) Asia 2025 casino trade show and conference on May 7.
G2E Asia’s exhibition and conference will be hosted at the Venetian Macao from May 7 to May 9 inclusive.
The afternoon keynote speaker on the first day of G2E Asia 2025 will be Ed Bowers, president of global development at MGM Resorts International, the parent of Macau operator MGM China Holdings Ltd.
Mr Bowers had also been tasked with overseeing the parent group’s involvement in the consortium developing the JPY1.27 trillion (US$8.89-billion currently) MGM Osaka, Japan’s first integrated resort (IR) with casino.
The MGM Resorts’ executive will also speak on an afternoon panel on G2E Asia 2025’s opening day, titled “Trends in Asia Gaming Markets”. According to the organisers, it will include discussion on Thailand, which is currently amid preparations to pass legislation to legalise casino resort business.
Also scheduled for the same afternoon panel is Vitaly Umansky, senior analyst, global gaming, at Seaport Research Partners, and Frederic Gushin, managing director and chief executive at due-diligence specialist Spectrum Gaming Group.
In the morning of day two, senior executives from a gaming operator and from leading gaming technology suppliers will offer their insight at a panel on the electronic gaming machine (EGM) segment, titled: “EGM Trends: Navigating Growth, Innovation, and Regulation in Asia’s Evolving Markets”.
It will include Jerry Chan, senior vice president of electronic gaming and special projects at the Okada Manila casino resort in the Philippine capital.
Also on the panel will be Glenn Huybrecht, vice president & managing director Asia, at Light and Wonder Inc; Dallas Orchard, senior vice president and chief operating officer for Asia Pacific, at International Game Technology Plc (IGT); and Lloyd Robson, vice president of sales & operations, Asia, at Aristocrat Gaming
The afternoon of day two will see a selection of academics with gaming expertise in a round-table discussion on “Multi-Dimensional Practices and Sustainable Development of Responsible Gaming – from Macao’s Experience”.
On the final day of G2E Asia 2025, a morning panel features legal experts discussing: “The Latest Compliance Issues Faced by Gaming Operators”.
Matters related to elements of corporate social responsibility (CSR) a major focus of Asia-Pacific gaming operators, are up for discussion on the third day of the G2E Asia conference, via a panel called “Compliance Issues Outside of Gaming Part 1– Growing ESG Relevance”.
The Asian IR Expo – focusing on non-gaming, including live entertainment, sports and hotel design at IRs – will see the exhibition portion also hosted at the Venetian Macao during the same three-day period as G2E Asia 2025.
The Asian IR Expo’s conference sessions will be held at Galaxy International Convention Center (GICC) from May 6 to May 8 inclusive. Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, director of the Macao Government Tourism Office, is scheduled to give the keynote address on the afternoon of the first day of the Asian IR Summit.
Other speakers at the Asian IR Summit include: Kevin Benning, senior vice president and Studio City general manager, Melco Resorts & Entertainment Ltd; and Jeffrey Jiang, executive vice president – entertainment services, at Galaxy Entertainment.
They will speak on the third day of the Asian IR Summit at a panel titled: “Enhancing Macao’s Position as a Regional and Global ‘Sportainment’ Hub”.
