Inspire Entertainment Resort, a complex with foreigner-only casino at Incheon in South Korea, says it has conducted during May a number of corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities for local young people. They included a special invitation to attend a concert, and a visit to a children’s centre at the Korean Red Cross Gyeongin Regional Rehabilitation Hospital, according to a Wednesday press release.

On May 17, the casino complex invited four young people majoring in music studies in the Incheon area to ‘A Symphony of Dreams: Hans Zimmer Concert’, held at the Inspire Arena at the resort. The occasion provided “a special cultural experience to local aspiring youth musicians,” according to the announcement.

“Inspire intends to expand its social contributions utilising the resort’s arts and culture elements and to actively support the dreams and talents of future generations,” it stated.

The young-musician invitees are students selected from the ‘I-Leader’ programme, a talent-fostering project of ChildFund Korea.

The release cited one of the invited students as saying: “Although I could not see visually, I felt as if every scene was vividly painted through the music. Listening to the melodies, my dream to one day impress someone’s heart with my own performance grew even stronger.”

Separately, as part of an initiative to mark Children’s Day, representatives of Inspire visited children undergoing treatment at the Children’s Rehabilitation Center of the Gyeongin Red Cross Rehabilitation Center.

On May 7, Inspire’s employees visited the children’s ward and delivered 40 stuffed-toy animals.

Inspire’s president, Chen Si, said in prepared remarks: “We are fortunate to share our cultural resources as an entertainment resort with local children for the family month.”

He added: “As supporting children and youth, our future leaders, is an important pillar of our social contribution activities, we will continue to explore differentiated opportunities to enhance reduce cultural disparities and support children’s healthy growth, as well as their dreams and talents.”

The casino promoter observed that it has “been focusing its social contribution efforts on children”.

In March, the resort signed an agreement with ChildFund Korea “to develop and operate scholarship and cultural education programmes to foster talent in the community and address the imbalance of educational opportunities”.

Inspire said it has also “sponsored 160 students over the past years and helped renovate seven group homes in Incheon, constantly providing practical support”.
