Casino sales at Paradise Co Ltd rose 10.3 percent year-on-year to nearly KRW83.54 billion (US$61.1 million) in May, according to a Wednesday filing to the Korea Exchange. Judged sequentially, last month’s tally was up 24.2 percent.

The company is an operator in South Korea of foreigner-only casinos, including a venture at Paradise City (pictured) in Incheon, done jointly with Japanese entertainment conglomerate Sega Sammy Holdings Inc.

Paradise Co also runs gaming at Walkerhill, Seoul, as well as in the southern port city of Busan, and at a venue on the semi-autonomous holiday island of Jeju.

The group’s table-games sales in May were almost KRW78.87 billion, up 10.1 percent from a year ago, and 23.9-percent higher than in April.

Machine-game sales last month grew by 13.7 percent year-on-year, to about KRW4.67 billion. Such tally was up by 30.2 percent sequentially.

The May figures took Paradise’s aggregate casino sales for the first five months of this year to just above KRW376.63 billion, up 3.9 percent year-on-year.

Accumulated table drop for the five months to May 31 – the amount paid by customers to purchase gaming chips at tables – stood at nearly KRW2.95 trillion, up 1.6 percent year-on-year, according to Wednesday’s filing.

Paradise Co Ltd reported net income of KRW31.13 billion for the first quarter of 2025, on revenue that rose by 7.0 percent year-on-year, to KRW283.31 billion.

In March the casino firm said it aimed to boost its revenue “by more than 10 percent” annually through to 2027, under a “plan to increase corporate value” for investors.
