Philippines-listed gaming technology provider PhilWeb Corp has appointed gaming industry veteran Antonio Hernandez as officer-in-charge and president, with effect from October 1 this year. He will be in those positions in an interim capacity, “until a new president is appointed and approved by the board,” stated the company in a Monday filing.

That comes as the firm announced that Edgar Brian Ng will be resigning on September 30 as president and as a member of the board of PhilWeb.

In Monday’s filing, Mr Hernandez is described as having “more than 22 years” of experience in the gaming industry, both in the Philippines and overseas.

Since June 2020, Mr Hernandez has been providing consultative services to various businesses, including in the gaming sector.

Prior to that, he is said to have co-founded, in 2010, Philippines-based Jade Entertainment and Gaming Technologies Inc, where he served as president and chief operating officer.

Mr Hernandez had also served in leadership positions in other gaming companies, including Entertainment Gaming Asia Philippines, and Games and Amusement Management and Entertainment Sports Inc, according to the announcement.
