Macau casino operator MGM China Holdings Ltd organised two initiatives recently to promote “rational entertainment and financial wellness” among the city’s student population.
The company said it collaborated with Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) and local theatre group Dream Theater Association to host two themed events on September 20.
As part of the effort, MGM and MUST signed a memorandum of understanding for a “Healthy Financial Literacy Campus Promotion Programme”, described as a “three-year initiative designed to enhance financial education for university students”.
“The programme integrates MGM’s industry expertise in responsible gaming with MUST’s academic strengths to deliver structured financial literacy education,” stated the casino firm in a press release.
The company said the effort aims to “help students develop proper financial values and decision-making skills before entering the workforce”.
Also on September 20, MGM hosted the launch ceremony and public performance of the third edition of the “MGM Financial Education School Tour 2025 – Gen Z Earth Cup”.
Under the guidance of Macau’s Education and Youth Development Bureau, and performed by Dream Theater Association, “the tour has reached more than 40 schools and nearly 8,000 students in the past two years,” as per the announcement.

“This year’s production adopts a Gen Z theme, using dynamic storytelling and interactive elements to convey messages on responsible entertainment and smart financial habits,” noted the casino firm.
As per the update, this year’s tour “will visit more than 20 schools and is expected to reach over 3,500 students”.
Tian Han, an executive vice president at MGM China, said in prepared remarks: “MGM designs educational initiatives tailored to different age groups, integrating financial literacy and responsible gaming concepts into everyday life, from campuses to communities.”
“These two events exemplify our continued efforts to promote responsible gaming through collaboration with academic institutions, community organisations, and professional groups,” he added.
The executive also said the company would continue its promotional efforts “through cross-sector partnerships, creative content, and active social engagement, working together to build a healthier and better Macau”.
