Experienced gaming executive Shirley Tam (pictured) has started a new position as executive vice president of casino marketing at the Okada Manila casino resort in the Philippine capital.

She started in the new position in mid-September, according to a Tuesday post on social media platform LinkedIn.

This is her return to Okada Manila, after spending nearly three years as the property’s senior vice president of premium marketing, between October 2018 and August 2021.

Prior to rejoining Okada Manila last month, Ms Tam served as chief casino marketing officer at Inspire Entertainment Resort, a complex with foreigner-only casino at Incheon in South Korea.

Ms Tam began her career at the Caesar’s Windsor casino property in Ontario, Canada, and moved to Macau in 2006 to work at The Venetian Macao, the latter a property run by Sands China Ltd.

She also served in senior marketing positions at Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd, Wynn Macau Ltd, Genting Hong Kong Ltd.

On Tuesday, the promoter of the Okada Manila property reported casino gross gaming revenue (GGR) of PHP6.98 billion (US$119.9 million) for the third quarter this year, down 15.3 percent from a year ago.

Adjusted segmental earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) for the complex stood at nearly PHP1.11 billion in the three months to September 30, a 2.0-percent increase from a year earlier.
