Virginia Lam, an executive vice president and chief customer officer at Sands China Ltd, is leaving the Macau casino operator, after more than 15 years with the company, GGRAsia has learnt.

Ms Lam (pictured in a file photo), who also serves as a member of the executive committee of Sands China, is credited for leading the firm’s customer-focused strategies.

GGRAsia approached the company for comment, but received no reply by the time this story went online. Sands China, a unit of U.S.-based Las Vegas Sands Corp, runs five casino resorts in Macau.

Ms Lam rejoined Sands China in March 2010 as an executive vice president of market development, and took on the role of chief customer officer in March 2020, according to her own LinkedIn profile.

Before that, she had served as a special event manager at the group’s Sands Macao property, between April 2004 and January 2007.

The profile said she led different teams at the casino group, including sales, marketing, loyalty and analytics, “aiming for customer acquisition and retention in the casino and leisure segments”.

In her profile, Ms Lam also said she was part of the team responsible for creating and establishing Sands China’s premium-play club zones branded APEX, targeting the group’s “most valued guests”.

Prior to rejoining Sands China, Ms Lam was for nearly two years – until February 2010 – assistant vice president of casino marketing at StarWorld Hotel & Casino, a property run by Macau market rival Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd.
