Macau casino concessionaire has appointed Raymond Voon as senior vice president (SVP) of marketing strategy and loyalty. In his new position he will “oversee the marketing and loyalty functions” for the group’s market development, according to an internal memo seen by GGRAsia.

Mr Voon served more recently as corporate SVP of customer services at Macau market rival Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd.

The internal memo, signed by Grant Chum, Sands China’s chief executive and president, described Mr Voon as having “28 years of experience in strategic planning, casino marketing, customer service, and loyalty programmes”.

The appointment comes after it was revealed that Virginia Lam, an executive vice president and chief customer officer at Sands China, was leaving the company, after more than 15 years, as reported by GGRAsia.

In his memo, the Sands China CEO confirmed Ms Lam’s departure from the company, “to pursue other interests and opportunities”.

“Virginia has been an invaluable member of our leadership team and has played a pivotal role in the successful launch of many of our properties, as well as establishing a strong team in market development,” stated Mr Chum.

The CEO also said that Philip Lam and Kitty Chui “will jointly oversee the sales and service functions in market development and premium mass services”. The two executives, as well as Mr Voon, will report directly to Mr Chum.

The notice also said that Sean McCreery, Sands China executive vice president for operations, “will be departing to embark on a new chapter in his career”. He has been with Sands China for 10 years, after joining the parent firm, Las Vegas Sands Corp, in 2013.

The memo said Cetin Tanisman would continue in his responsibilities in overseeing casino operations.

Mr Chum also announced the appointment of John Burger as the company’s SVP of resort operations. Mr Burger will oversee hotel operations; customer experience design and innovation; meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE); and transportation.

Described as having more than 40 years of experience, he is currently vice president operations China south at global hospitality company Hilton.

Separately, Sands China also flagged the promotion of several of the group’s executive. The firm promoted Wing Ao to SVP of market development for “Asia/Non-Asia”, and Eddie Lou to SVP of market development for The Parisian Macao and The Londoner Grand.

Luisa Lei has been appointed SVP of business development, and Thomas Pang as SVP of international marketing.
