Gaming supplier Zitro International has named Michael Bauer (pictured) as chief executive of Zitro Digital, the group’s online division.
“Michael brings over a decade of senior leadership experience in online gaming, where he has built and scaled digital operations across multiple regulated markets,” stated the company in a Thursday written announcement.
In his new role, Mr Bauer “will oversee Zitro Digital’s strategy and operations as the company accelerates its growth in the online space,” the firm added.
Prior to his appointment as CEO of Zitro Digital, Mr Bauer was for more than 10 years with Greentube GmbH, a developer and supplier of software for Internet and mobile gaming that is a subsidiary of Austrian gaming technology supplier Novomatic AG.
He most recently served as Greentube’s chief product officer and chief revenue officer.
As per Thursday’s update, Mr Bauer’s background “spans product development, driving revenue growth, and managing international expansion at executive level”.
The release cited Johnny Ortiz, founder of Zitro, as saying that Mr Bauer would be a “key addition” to the group’s leadership team “at an important moment for Zitro Digital”.
Mr Ortiz added: “His proven track record in growing online gaming operations aligns perfectly with our goals in the digital market. We’re excited to have him lead this next chapter.”
Mr Bauer said in prepared remarks that he had been “impressed” by Zitro’s fast international growth in recent years.
“Zitro has built a strong position as a market leader in land-based casinos worldwide, and I strongly believe we can replicate that success online,” he stated.
“My task is now to bring their winning formula to the digital realm – a role that I’m very much looking forward to,” Mr Bauer added. “We share the same vision that casino entertainment is based on strong product, quality games, a customer-centric approach, and great people.”
