The Paradise City casino resort in South Korea is to see its hotel-room inventory leap by 65.1 percent from March onward, via its newly-rebranded acquisition “Hyatt Regency Incheon Paradise City”. That is according to one of the resort’s promoters, Paradise Co Ltd, an operator of foreigner-only casinos in that country.
As per the firm’s update, the newly-branded Hyatt Regency Incheon Paradise City – formerly the West Wing of the Grand Hyatt Incheon hotel (pictured in a file photo) – is currently being renovated and should be available by March.
It will add 501 rooms to Paradise City’s existing 769, taking to 1,270 the new tally available to the gaming complex. The casino resort’s current capacity is split between a Paradise City-branded hotel with 711 rooms, and the resort’s boutique facility the 58-room Art Paradiso hotel.
The additional accommodation is a five-minute walk from the Paradise City casino resort, a joint venture between Paradise Co and Japan’s Sega Sammy Holdings Inc.
Paradise City is also near the country’s main air hub Incheon International Airport.
A Paradise Co representative said, in response to GGRAsia’s telephone enquiry, that a date for constructing a proposed footbridge linking Paradise City to the extra hotel space, was “yet to be determined”.
According to recent announcements, Paradise Co is paying KRW210.0 billion (US$142.6 million currently) via one of its subsidiaries, for the fresh hotel facility.
Paradise Co also runs gaming at Walkerhill, Seoul, as well as in the southern port city of Busan, and at a venue on the semi-autonomous holiday island of Jeju.
Incheon’s other leisure complex with foreigner-only casino – Inspire Entertainment Resort, offering 1,275 rooms – recently saw its accommodation added to the Hilton hospitality group’s global reservation channels.
