IGT revealing expanded capabilities, new games: Hector Fernandez

Hector Fernandez, who recently assumed the chief executive role at casino equipment supplier International Game Technology (IGT), says the brand is expanding its capabilities and portfolio of games, following a merger last year.

IGT was formed through the coming together of IGT Plc’s gaming and digital business and fintech specialist Everi Holdings Inc, in a circa US$6.3-billion deal involving funds linked to private equity firm Apollo Global Management Inc.

IGT’s offering spans gaming machines, game content and systems, iGaming, sports betting, cash access, and loyalty and player-engagement support services.

Mr Fernandez said the company will be “showcasing a strong regional portfolio of games, systems and fintech [financial technology]” at the Australasian Hospitality & Gaming Expo (AHG) this month.

The event “provides an excellent opportunity for IGT to demonstrate how our transformation can create value for our customers in Australia and New Zealand,” added the executive, as cited in a press release.

At AHG, being held from from March 25 to 26, at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, in Queensland, Australia, IGT’s offering is displaying the brand’s “expanded capabilities and enhanced content,” Mr Fernandez stated.

He added: “We’re excited to present locally attuned versions of global hits such as ‘Tiger and Dragon’ and ‘Rising Rockets’, plus regional games such as ‘Golden Guardian Link’ [pictured] and ‘Hot Stuff Link’, which both offer IGT’s new Superlink jackpot opportunities.”

Superlink is said to offer venue operators “additional choice and configurability options,” per the update, and is compatible with link games on IGT’s PeakDual27 and PeakCurve49 cabinets.

Golden Guardian Link is making its debut, and offers a hold-and-spin mechanic. The chilli-themed Hot Stuff Link is said to feature a new prize wheel mechanic. Bandit Link is described as a “proven performer” in the region, offering  high-volatility play.

IGT suggested the products can help regional operators “diversify their floors with proven titles with wide appeal”.
