Resorts World Genting, the Malaysian casino resort operated by Genting Malaysia Bhd, recently hosted 72 students and six lecturers from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Cawangan Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan. The visit was to help them learn about operational logistics and facility management on such a large-scale site.
The activity, held in mid-May, involved students enrolled on UiTM’s textile technology programme. The tour provided students with behind-the-scenes insights into Resorts World Genting’s textile-handling operations and hospitality support functions.
According to the property’s promoter, the initiative was conducted under the Genting Bersama Malaysia corporate social responsibility programme. Per a recent press release, it was designed to help link academic learning with practical industry applications.
The delegation began its visit at the resort’s Sky Agency Mission Control Room, where it got an overview of the complex’s high-volume laundry operations.
The programme included stops that showcased automated industrial fabric-processing systems and fabric-preservation techniques. The participants also learned about inventory management, garment sorting, and apparel maintenance procedures.
The students additionally visited the Genting Guest Experience Centre, for a briefing on the history and development of the Genting group, guest-relations management, customer-service strategies, and operational coordination across the integrated resort.
Resorts World Genting said the visit formed part of its ongoing efforts to support talent development by providing students with exposure to real-world operational environments and industry best practices.
