Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd (GEG) says it has been making use of its special role as a co-organiser of the Women’s Volleyball Nations League – Finals Macao 2026 to support multiple social-inclusion initiatives linked to the event.
The finals ran from July 22 to 26 at Macau East Asian Games Dome in Cotai, in partnership with the city’s Sports Bureau.
A key element of the casino firm’s social-inclusion effort during the tournament was its “GEG Sports for Good Community Program: ‘V Together’ Volleyball Outreach Series”.
The company said in a press release: The initiative aims to extend the tournament experience to different sectors of the community and encourage participation.”
The programme has included volleyball exchange activities done with other event organisers, as well as invitations for 200 users of local social service bodies, community entities, and youth groups to attend matches.
Among those enjoying the matches were invitees from: the Fuhong Society of Macau; Macau Special Olympics (MSO); the Macau Deaf Association; the Association of Parents of the People with Intellectual Disabilities of Macau; Caritas Macau; the GEG Youth Achievement Program; and the Young Men’s Christian Association of Macau.
Also available was an interactive “Volleyball Experience” zone at the East Square of the Galaxy Macau integrated resort, and support for social service organisations – namely MSO and the Fuhong Society of Macau – to operate charity sales booths at the competition venue.
Ahead of the tournament, Galaxy Entertainment linked with other organisers to invite some members of the Chinese women’s national volleyball team – including Dong Yuhan, Yang Shuming, Zhang Zixuan, and Zhou Yetong – to interact with people from local youth training teams under the Volleyball Association of Macao, China, as well as with members of the volleyball team of the GEG Staff Social Club
The casino firm also organised a series of autograph sessions featuring athletes taking part in the finals.
“Through sports, GEG aims to foster social inclusion, strengthen community connections, and bring the positive values of sports to the wider community,” the firm said in its update.
