The 27th Annual AGEM & AGA Golf Classic, presented by JCM Global, has raised US$185,000 for the International Center for Responsible Gaming (ICRG), the organisers said in a recent announcement.
The latest fundraising effort brings the cumulative amount generated by the annual charity tournament to US$3.2 million since its inception, with the proceeds supporting independent research into gambling disorder and responsible gaming.
This year’s event was held at SouthShore Country Club in Henderson, Nevada, in the United States, bringing together representatives from gaming equipment suppliers, casino operators and regulatory agencies.
Michael Soll, president of the ICRG, said in prepared remarks that the industry’s continued support would help fund “independent, peer-reviewed research” aimed at improving understanding of gambling disorder and informing evidence-based responsible gaming practices.
“Raising US$185,000 this year – and US$3.2 million over the tournament’s history – is a powerful testament to what the gaming community can accomplish when it comes together in support of rigorous science and player well-being,” he stated.
The annual tournament is organised by the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM) and the American Gaming Association (AGA), with Japan Cash Machine Co Ltd, also known as JCM Global, serving as presenting sponsor. Among other sponsor brands were Aristocrat, Gaming Laboratories International, IGT, Konami, and Light & Wonder.
Dave Kubajak, senior vice president of sales, marketing and operations at JCM Global, said the event continued to attract broad support from across the gaming sector.
“As our industry evolves and diversifies, it is encouraging to see broader participation in this event. It reflects both the strength of our community and our collective commitment to responsible gaming,” Mr Kubajak noted.
