Sportsbook technology supplier Altenar says it has entered the regulated sports betting market in the Philippines via a partnership with ArenaPlus, the sports-betting brand of Philippines-listed DigiPlus Interactive Corp.
Under the agreement, ArenaPlus will migrate its sportsbook operations to Altenar’s fully-managed sportsbook platform, with the supplier providing betting content, risk management tools and compliance capabilities tailored to the local market, according to a Thursday press release.
ArenaPlus is an online sportsbook licensed by the nation’s casino regulator, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (Pagcor).
Under the freshly announced partnership, Altenar will provide a sportsbook that offers customised betting options, live and in-play betting functions, automated pricing tools, and localisation features aimed at the Philippines’ predominantly mobile-using customer base.
Altenar said its in-house statistical models would support an expanded player proposition for wagering on Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) games, as well as faster odds updates.
The announcement cited Dinos Stranomitis, chief operating officer at Altenar, as saying: “Partnering with DigiPlus to power ArenaPlus marks a key step in our entry into the Philippines, a highly engaged and rapidly growing regulated market.”
“Our fully managed, localised sportsbook delivers the performance, stability and compliance required in this market,” he added.
Erick Su, head of ArenaPlus, said in prepared remarks that Altenar’s “fully-managed” platform aligns with ArenaPlus’ “strategy for continued growth in the Philippines, particularly amid the rising demand for live and in-play sports betting”.
“With Altenar’s technology in place, we can continue enhancing the player experience while building a partnership focused on long-term and sustainable growth,” Mr Su stated.
In April, ArenaPlus announced a “multiyear collaboration” to become the National Basketball Association’s (NBA’s) “first official betting partner in the Philippines”
