APT Macau Championships 2018 to start April 25

Oct 12, 2017 Newsdesk Industry Talk, Latest News, Macau

APT Macau Championships 2018 to start April 25

The Asian Poker Tour (APT) has confirmed the schedule for the APT Macau Championships 2018. It will be held from April 25 to May 6, a period that also overlaps Japan’s Golden Week holiday, according to an official statement from the APT.

The 12-day poker tournament will be held at Babylon Casino at Macau Fisherman’s Wharf. The property is operated by casino services firm Macau Legend Development Ltd, under SJM Holdings Ltd’s gaming licence.

On July 31 the APT announced it had signed an exclusive agreement with the Macau Billionaire Poker brand and the Babylon Casino to bring a minimum of two international poker events per year to Macau for the next five years. The APT Macau Championships 2018 is the second of the two events.

The first scheduled APT event is the upcoming APT Finale Macau Championships 2017, to be held at the Macau Billionaire Poker room at Babylon Casino from November 29 to December 10, subject to approval by the local gaming regulator.

“With the APT Macau Championships 2018 announcement coming this early, and with it taking place in Macau during the prime time slot of Japan’s Golden Week, players can expect to see record-breaking fields in each and every event with a schedule made to cater to all types of bankrolls,” APT executive tournament director Lloyd Fontillas was cited as saying in the official statement.
