The Asian Poker Tour (APT) announced on Tuesday that the APT Philippines Championships 2018 will have an aggregate pool prize of PHP10 million (US$192,210). The tournament will take place from March 21 to April 2, at Philippine casino venue Resorts World Manila, the APT said in a press release.
The organisers said the event will have guaranteed prize pools on at least three events: the opening event will have a PHP2 million prize pool; while the main event offers a PHP8-million prize. There will also be a sponsored side event with a prize of PHP500,000, said the APT.
The APT said in November that it had extended its partnership with Resorts World Manila via a three-year “exclusive agreement” to stage APT events there. The APT described its links to Resorts World Manila – a property operated by Travellers International Hotel Group Inc – as a “strong bond” that went back to 2010.
Aside from the APT Philippines Championships 2018, Resorts World Manila will also host the APT Philippines 2018, from September 11 to 20.
The APT Philippines Championships 2018 is the second event of this year’s APT calendar. The first tournament kicked-off in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, in January, with a guaranteed main event prize pool of VND3 billion (US$132,135).
