Australia-listed slot machine maker and online gaming content provider Aristocrat Leisure Ltd announced on Friday leadership changes at its Aristocrat Interactive unit, as well as for the group’s corporate affairs and marketing departments.
The firm said in a filing that Moti Malul has stepped down from his role as chief executive of Aristocrat Interactive. Mr Malul “will depart the business in March 2026 at the completion of his notice period and other contractual obligations,” Aristocrat stated.
Dylan Slaney has been appointed to succeed Mr Malul as CEO of Aristocrat Interactive, and is expected to start on November 3, 2025, subject to the receipt of necessary regulatory pre-approvals, the firm added.
Mr Slaney was most recently CEO of iGaming business at rival Light & Wonder Inc – a position from which he stepped down in November 2024, according to his profile on social media platform LinkedIn. He previously held leadership positions at NYX, SG Digital, and at global customer data science company Dunnhumby Ltd.
The release said Mr Malul had “successfully led NeoGames SA through its acquisition by Aristocrat, and steered the creation of the Aristocrat Interactive business over the past 18 months”.
Aristocrat completed the acquisition of online real money gaming (RMG) provider NeoGames in April 2024, and announced at the time Mr Malul – previously chief executive of NeoGames – as the first CEO of Aristocrat Interactive, a unit launched following the acquisition.
Aristocrat also said on Friday that Natalie Toohey had “chosen to pursue new opportunities after almost seven years in her role” as chief corporate affairs officer. Barry French has been appointed to succeed her in what is now the expanded role of chief corporate affairs and marketing officer, “effective immediately,” said the Australia-listed firm.
It added: “Ms Toohey will ensure a smooth transition and be available to provide further support under a consulting arrangement.”
Mr French was described in the release as “a seasoned corporate affairs and marketing executive with over 35 years of leadership experience in the telecommunications, transport, aerospace, defence, and technology sectors”. He was previously chief marketing and communications officer at satellite communications provider Inmarsat, and before that at Nokia.
Both Mr Slaney and Mr French will report directly to Aristocrat group CEO and managing director, Trevor Croker, and will join the firm’s executive steering committee. Mr Slaney will be based in London, United Kingdom, and Mr French will be based in Las Vegas, Nevada, in the United States.
Friday’s release quoted Mr Croker as saying the new leadership appointments would “consolidate the strong progress” achieved by Aristocrat and help it “accelerate delivery” of the group’s strategy.
He added, in reference to Mr Slaney: “Dylan’s deep iGaming experience and track record of operational delivery will help us accelerate momentum in Aristocrat Interactive, including building on our market-leading position in iLottery, in line with our strategy.”
In his remarks, Mr Croker thanked Mr Malul “for his leadership through a period in which we brought together multiple teams to create Aristocrat Interactive, put in place an ambitious group growth plan, and took foundational steps towards its delivery.”
Aristocrat reported revenue of just above AUD3.03 billion (US$2.02 billion currently) for its financial first half, up 8.7 percent on the prior-year period. The company posted a statutory interim net profit after tax and before amortisation of acquired intangibles (NPATA) of AUD578.7 million for the six months to March 31, a 15.1-percent decline from a year ago, it said in a May filing.
