Bally Technologies Inc has connected its ‘Cash Connection’ wide-area progressive slot link across Nevada and New Jersey, in the United States, the company announced on Thursday.
The goal is “to allow jackpots to reach larger amounts more quickly, offering more excitement for players and driving play for operators”, Bally Technologies said in a statement.
The firm’s Cash Connection interstate wide-area progressive link went live on Wednesday. When it did, the jackpot totals for Nevada and New Jersey were combined for an immediately larger reward.
The combined link started with a primary amount of US$2.2 million, the company said.
The launch of the multistate link comes after gaming regulators in Nevada and New Jersey passed regulations allowing slot jackpots to be linked across state lines.
“We believe that this is a great opportunity for the gaming industry: for casino operators, the potential for higher rewards drives player demand, while players will be thrilled at the chance to win an even larger jackpot,” said Bally Technologies’ senior vice president of North American sales and corporate marketing Robert Parente.
