China LotSynergy wins Guangxi lottery equipment bid

China LotSynergy Holdings Ltd has via a subsidiary won a bid to supply sports lottery terminals for use in the mainland’s Guangxi autonomous region, in south central China.

The company’s unit Guangzhou Lottnal Terminal Company Ltd, will provide the equipment to Guangxi Sports Lottery Administration Centre.

China LotSynergy has previously won bids to supply sports lottery technology to the mainland provinces of Guizhou, Gansu, Zhejiang and Anhui.

“Capitalising on the [FIFA] World Cup and other major sports events, the group believes that China’s sports lottery industry has entered a golden period of development,” China LotSynergy said in a Hong Kong filing on Thursday.

“The group will continue to actively grasp opportunities and accelerate the expansion of its sports lottery terminal business,” it added, saying sales growth for Guangxi sports lottery exceeded 20 percent year-on-year in the January to July period.

July saw a 92.9-percent increase in sports lottery sales in China judged year-on-year, said the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday. Sports lottery sales for the month amounted to RMB19.8 billion (US$3.2 billion), fuelled by the FIFA World Cup, the ministry stated. The international soccer tournament took place in Brazil between June 12 and July 13.
