Daisy Ho of SJM Holdings is G2E Asia 2019 key speaker

Daisy Ho Chiu Fung, chairman and executive director of Macau casino operator SJM Holdings Ltd, and a daughter of Macau’s former gaming monopolist Stanley Ho Hung Sun, will deliver a keynote speech on the first day of Global Gaming Expo (G2E) Asia 2019. The casino trade show and conference is taking place from May 21 to 23 at the Venetian Macao casino resort on Cotai.

Ms Ho’s topic is “China’s Greater Bay Area: Opportunities and Challenges for Macau and for our Key Industry”, according to a Monday press statement issued by the trade show organiser. G2E Asia is an annual trade show presented and organised by the American Gaming Association (AGA) and Reed Exhibitions and held in Macau since the event’s inception.

Macau government officials that oversee the city’s gaming and tourism industry will also speak at the trade event.

Paulo Martins Chan, director of Macau’s Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau, will deliver a keynote speech in the afternoon of the second day of G2E Asia. Mr Chan’s session will be followed by a talk by Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, Macao Government Tourism Office director. She will speak about the local government’s strategy for tourism in the city.

Japan’s nascent gaming scene will also be addressed at conference sessions on the first day of the trade show. According to the event’s website, there will be two sessions about Japan on the afternoon of May 21 : the commercial prospects for the market and the potential impact of its development on other Asian gaming markets.

Financial technology, or ‘fintech’, is a topic freshly featured in the industry trade show and its concurrent conference sessions. On day two, there will be a forum on “the latest technology developments and innovations in digital payments and finance security”. Use of blockchain technology in the gaming industry will be addressed in an afternoon session.

The conference sessions on the last day of the trade show are centred on sports betting in Asia, as well as innovations in gaming-related technologies, according to the event organisers.

G2E Asia 2019 will have a further new segment, focused on art business related to casino resorts. “ArtBiz Forum” will be held on the first and second day of the trade show, featuring representatives from MGM China Holdings Ltd, SJM Cotai, and the head of MGTO, as well as representatives of the commercial market for art.
