GMA Consulting says Alex Dixon (pictured), an ex-casino industry executive and former investment banker at Goldman Sachs, has been appointed a senior advisor.
GMA Consulting – which works with business sectors including land-based gaming, iGaming and online sports betting – was formed from the merger of Global Market Advisors and The Strategy Organization.
Mr Dixon was cited as saying in the announcement of his new role: “Gaming and hospitality are at an inflection point where land-based operators must unlock value from underutilised real estate to drive long-term returns.”
He added: “We’ll help clients navigate complexity and create lasting enterprise and community value.”
Steve Gallaway, managing partner at GMA Consulting, was quoted saying Mr Dixon had “launched and led some of the most recognisable properties in the industry, navigated complex transactions, and fostered high-performing teams through times of growth and change”.
Mr Gallaway added: “His perspective as both an operator and a financier makes him an invaluable addition to our team.”
As per the update, Mr Dixon has more than 20 years of executive experience spanning Resorts World Las Vegas, the Genting group’s Las Vegas, Nevada property in the United States; as well as at MGM Resorts International, parent of Macau casino operator, MGM China Holdings Ltd, and at Caesars Entertainment; as well as at Goldman Sachs.
