Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd (GEG) says it has co-hosted for the 16th consecutive year the “GEG Macau Special Olympics Inclusive Table Tennis Fun Day” event.
The 2026 edition (pictured), presented jointly with Macau Special Olympics (MSO), has been held to coincide with an International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) event at Galaxy Arena and with the federation’s centenary.
MSO serves athletes with intellectual disabilities.
The ITTF Men’s and Women’s World Cup Macao 2026 has been scheduled from March 30 to April 5 and staged by Galaxy Entertainment at the arena, which is within its Galaxy Macau casino resort in the Cotai district of Macau.
Buddy Lam Chi Seng, director of corporate affairs at Galaxy Entertainment, was quoted saying in a press release: “Over the years, Galaxy Entertainment has not only actively hosted major international sporting events, but also leveraged our resources to strengthen the connection between sports and the community through diverse initiatives.”
This year’s Fun Day attracted nearly 1,000 participants. In the lead-up to it, a series of “inclusion workshops” was held at local schools, “providing students with opportunities to explore the values of inclusivity while building excitement ahead of the world-class tournament,” said the update.

Bart Vermoesen, ITTF event director, an attendee at the Fun Day, was cited saying: “It is a privilege to be here celebrating our centenary year alongside Galaxy Entertainment and MSO.”
He added, referring to the Fun Day co-hosts: “Sixteen editions of this event is a testament to their real, sustained commitment to inclusion.
“Table tennis is one of the most accessible sports in the world. Over 100 years, we have grown into a global family, and events like this remind us exactly what that means. Table tennis for all, for life.”
Hetzer Siu, national director of Macau Special Olympics, was quoted as saying: “We sincerely appreciate Galaxy Entertainment’s unwavering support in promoting inclusive values and fostering community harmony.”
He added: “We also thank the representatives from the ITTF for their presence, which connects our local initiative with a century-long international sporting legacy.”
